What do you guys use for hide boxes for your large snakes? I'm planning on buying a 7x2x1 cage to put a blood in, but bloods get so thick, the standard overturned-dog-dish-with-a-hole-in-it routine isn't going to work once that puppy grows up. Ideas?

Here is what I use for hides.
This way they get a new one every week or so.

I would just make one using a few pieces of wood, kinda like what Brian made above.
For really large animals, another option would be to cut a bucket or a barrel in half (you get 2 hides that way. It is crude but it works.
Hope this helps.
I use upside down plant pots with holes in the sides

If you go to somewhere like Walmart or Home Depo you can get large plastic storage bins that work great, plus they are light wait, and really easy to clean.

for all my bloods i use roughneck totes (from canadian tire) with a large hole cut in the lid and with about 2 inches of moist spaghnum moss in it although if your cages are only one foot high you would have to put the hole in the side,

Same idea with mine. It is just so easy and affordable.
Asphyxia: Good idea! I will have to try that.

I have a shoe box in one of mine, works great...its if too long you could just cut length and and tape a back to it or just put it up against the cage side so it remains dark...
Right now we're using cork bark, not sure what we'll use when they're too big for that
