I will see my snakes drink water occasionally but not very often.

I've seen a few of my snakes drink, like my 6' Boa, but considering that they are out and about when I'm asleep, I probably won't catch too many of them in the act. All I know is that water levels are low, too low for just evaporation since I put my water AR the cold side, so I know they're drinking.

Occasionally I catch them but not often. Most usually when I do water changes one will have a little sip but it's not that often.

I've seen my snakes all drink exactly once, but I am sure they do it more often-- usually when I'm asleep/not home as above mentioned.

It was shortly after I brough them home actually and gave them fresh water.

My king will drink pretty often. The rest I haven't caught but all have large water dishes.

Every so often I catch them in the fridge stealing a beer though :p

My Texas ratsnake will drink like crazy. I've seen her drink more water in one sitting than I thought possible.

At any rate: always keep fresh clean water available. Most snakes can live for months ( adults) without food, but can die in a pretty short time without water.

One of my ball pythons loves to take a long drink after most handling sessions. Its like he considers lazily slithering over the floor a workout or something. Here is a screencap from one of the videos I've taken of it.

I actually have a ball that will drink as I put him back in his enclosure and is still in my hands. It always hits me as something special.

My male thayeri king was AWOL from last February until I finally found him in July. He did have access to water during that time, several aquariums and quite often a bowl or plastic tub in the basement sink held water. He was thirsty though, and drank quite a lot when I did finally find him. Otherwise I've seen a few of my snakes drinking, but since I don't spend much time watching them individually it's a rare sight.

All the time but I have my snakes around me in display tanks in almost every room. The desert king is best at knowing he should hydrate if he hasn't before he eats. Despite the fact he's a bottomless pit every now and then if he's been laying in the heat for a long time and then we put a mouse in he turns it down for a few hours. Instead he drinks a bunch of water, goes under a hide, and then comes back to eat. I've heard some snakes will fail at this and drink a ton after eating to cause regurgitation or other water problems. Some control their rosy boa water timing for such issues. I've never had the problem. I also frequently see my lavender corn drink as she's next to the bed. If something disturbs her during the day like dogs wrestling or weird vibrations (borrowed a giant shop vac once when we don't normally vacuum because of wood floors) she will then take a chance to drink before either returning to her hide or basking the rest of the day.

My new 2yr old Hogg Island went straight for the water after I pint her in her new enclosure the other night,

The other three? Straight to the hides. They were probably car sick after the 4.5hr trip...not that I blame them due to the way I drive.

My snakes drink pints of Guinness, well apart from the ball python he drinks half pints. Sometimes they like a wee Bushmills after they're rabbits;)
