View Full Version : BCI. Mating between brother and sister?
BCI Mating between brother and sister from same litter.
Is this very dangerous for health of future litter ? Or it is normal practice?

Ignorance may be mine, but I've read where daughter+father or mother+son was okay for morphology's sake, but not brother+sister.
However, that being said, try to bring in new blood if possible.
Inbreeding is never right, always a risk, regardless of species or generation, simply how genetics work..
However, it's common practice with anything else but humans. Humans end up in jail for that stuff, but doing it with animals seems to be standard practice for some reason.

Weird right?
This is all agreed upon. Generally you want to find different blood lines. Easier when the morph is more common, more difficult when it's newer.
