View Full Version : Rudy Update (Epicrates Striatus - born early 1982)
After just seeing Danny's great looking Cuban Boa pictures, I was inspired to post these very average pictures (cell phone, indoors on a cloudy day) of Rudy. A little remaining shed in the one (earlier shed cycle) shot and recently shed in the other 3.

Beautiful. You read my mind - was going to ask if you had some recent pictures. Has striatus been reclassified Chilabrothus also?.
Good age as well - nice long lived genus.
Not sure. Does anyone else know? I'm thinking all these Caribbean Island boa species are closely related. Without even looking at genes, you can see how their body types and appearances are so similar.

I'm guessing so too. As you say there is a lot of similarity between them. All lovely. I know someone working with Jamaican boas at the moment as well.

Looking good! I hope at least some of my snakes make it to that age...Have you had Rudy this entire time, or is he a new(ish) addition?
Got him from a Petland in New Rochelle December 1982. He was somewhere around 20 inches long and took awhile to get established eating. But yeah, he's been with me basically the whole time.
