While feeding my hognose tonight he imgested a good amount of shredded aspen. I know small amounts of substrate being ingested isn't a problem but I'm a little concerned he ate quite a bit of it. Should he be able to pass it?

I've never had any issues with snakes eating substrate. They always seem to pass it without any problems. As long as his temps are good and he's got plenty of fresh water you should be fine. Just keep an eye on him for a few days.

Same here, I've had snakes eat a mouth full of substrate and it always passed.

Gonna echo the thoughts of others in this thread, shouldn't be a problem as long as husbandry is on point.
