I have a new friend...a False Water Cobra.

Picked him up this morning, from someone up in Washington D.C., for a "few bills". He is very well mannered, and much to my chagrin, eating live versus f/t. This makes three that eat live: my Dumeril's, my Anthill (male), and now this one. I've got my work cut out for me to get them all on f/t!

Here are a few pics. There appears to be a dark area in the front of the mouth, something like either substrate or maybe the remnants of its last meal; or, it may be just some scale pigmentation that give him a little character. I'll be keeping an eye on it...

Very nice pickup! Shouldn't be too hard to get that one on f/t as they have an insane feeding response, especially when they get some size.

Nice. I've had many of these over the years. I'd try cleaning out the mouth to make sure that is not a sore, which may become mouth rot.

Very good looking snake. They're one of the few that are on my "to get" list at the moment (even though the list seems to never stop expanding).

He shed Sat/Sun and the "black" spot is gone.

And there was much rejoicing!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yciX2meIkXI)

Lovely. I know a few breeders over here and have always been tempted. They get to an impressive size as well. But alas not one I'll be getting so make sure you post plenty of photos of yours :).
