My Dads red tail, Juliette, recently started biting her sides after eating. She sniffs up and down her body and bites down repeatedly in several places. Have had to remove her teeth that got stuck in her scales before! Really odd and no-one seems to have an answer as to why she is doing this. Completely healthy and thriving other than this strange behavior. Anyone have experience or ideas?
This can happen with individuals that have a very strong feeding response if they smell the remenants of a rodent on themselves. Although it may have no influence on this action, I am curious as to how old/how big the snake is and it's feeding regimen. Perhaps others will chime in with their experiences as well.

Offer her another prey item. She may still be hungry.
Has this been resolved? Can you tell us what size she is and what her feeding schedule is? Including what she eats, when meal size? Thanks
