Hi everyone. It's Jerry, AKA Jerrythesnakeman, SSSSnakes. I went AWOL for about 18 months. I cut my foot and it went septic and I had to have my below knee amputated. Had to have a prosthetic leg made and learn how to walk again.

I had to shut down my snake shows and gave away my collection to friends who could take care of them. But I'm starting back up and moving to California.

Ps. My prosthetic leg has a snake skin design.

Welcome back man. That's a terrible and scary story. I cut myself on a weekly basis at work.

Sounds like a cool design. Saw a car show where a woman had a prosthetic leg and they airbrushed tattoos she lost plus more.

Man that's rough. :(

Your photos won't show up anymore if you use Photobucket (unless you pay their exorbitant yearly fee) but you can use Imgur to host them. I like them so far--easy to use and they don't fling constant ads at you.

Thanks. It may sound funny, but it is not that terrible. Life is a constant change and the Lord gives me the strength to adapt. I never felt depressed about it.

Already started it. A Texas rat snake and a lemon blast ball python

Haha, I see what you did there one of the most timid snakes and one of the most nutty.

Welcome back Jerry. Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I caught a full grown wild Texas rat snake a while back, and couldn't believe how calm it was. Had it about a month, took it out all the time, and it only bit me once.

I let it go. My baby is a 5' Texas rat snake I've had for about 15 years. I love those guys...especially the babies, ( I think they are as pretty as any snake!)

Edit: (the babies, the adults are dang near ugly! LOL!)

Welcome back Jerry! It saddens me to hear of what happened with your leg. Glad however that things are looking better these days. "If it don't kill you, it only makes you stronger".
