Names Justin from greenwood Indiana looking into buying a snake recently got back into them only ever owned 1 and it passed away and I have pretty much forgotten everything there is to know about snakes so I'm here for questions mostly about buying and I can not figure out where to post my questions on this forums so I guess I'll start here
I'm wanting to buy a corn snake the problem is the next reptile show here is in 2 weeks are there reputable websites I can order from if so can someone please link me then?

Don't rush your purchase, go to the show. Read up beforehand to get some knowledge in tour back pocket, and beware the "know-it-alls" at the show. Snakes at the show might seem high priced, but when you figure in shipping it's about the same; also you get to handle to see if the snake is "bitey" and gauge the overall health. Stay away from "scaleless" snakes!

Can you elaborate on "stay away from scaleless snakes"?

Maybe I was a bit brash with that comment, maybe it's more of a personal opinion, but the snake is not normal. Sure, morphs aren't normal either, but that's only a coloration change. A scaled snake isn't as vulnerable to damage like a scaleless snake would be...I mean, can you bandage a snake if it gets cut? Can you live feed and prevent teeth or claws from doing damage?

No offense to anyone who has one, but they're just plain ugly, like a hairless dog or cat...the skin is all wrinkled, and the colors are muted. Baldness in humans is okay, but a snake?

But, to each his/her own...beauty and the beast, etc...we fall in love with the ugliest things sometimes. Like, my first girlfriend for example... :rolleyes:

lol I didn't think you were too brash I just didn't understand why like if they were automatically pre dispositioned to get certain lung infection or something of that sort but no I'm not the type to bug a scale less snake lol but I appreciate you taking the time to post and explain your reasoning behind it!
