Well little Hanksy thought my index finger was a tasty meal when I went to change his water. He latched on and chewed on me for about 10 seconds before I could get him off. The result, itchy and swollen finger, almost like a bee stinghttp://i.imgur.com/AbEw45o.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/WksNQbL.jpg

ALWAYS best to remove the resident before doing work in the cage. Glad you got out alive, though. ;)

He's absolutely nuts, he wants to eat everything. And yes, my handling skills are somewhat lacking haha

Amputate! (I'm kidding lol...) I have yet to be bitten by my little hoggie but I wouldn't be surprised if he tagged me at some point...little brat :suspicious:

My little guy had the funniest little attitude. He just comes flying out of his aspen bedding, reminds me of the movie Tremors

I have a few snakes that think my fingers are tasty, too. Every rack now has a pair of long tongs sitting on it :)

I was surprised by the amount of swelling, my finger is about twice it's normal size right now lol. Seems to have stopped swelling now though

Ouch!

For future reference you can use a hoggie's rostrum (their little hog snoot) to get them off you. Push up and they pop right off. Just make sure they don't grab your other finger. The longer they chew on you the worse your reaction is likely to be.

If you don't hook your little guy out before you do anything in his cage, at least make sure you thoroughly wash your hands first. Any lingering scents (other pets, tuna sandwich or cheeseburger you ate earlier in the day) can make you smell like lunch.

You should look up Eminart's YouTube video featuring his hungry, hungry hognose. You'll get a kick out of it. It's called "The Bitiest One." :)

Thanks for tips :) I'll be sure to check it out. So what you're saying is I can share my lunch with him?lol I'm sure he'd eat a brussel sprout if I put it in there

My female, Flora, would eat a nice tasty rock if offered. :D
