So this little guy from Bob Clark is still not eating. I received him and waited a week and would eat a rat pup live or fresh killed. I loved him from a 20
Gal set up to a 36 qt enclosure. It's not dark so you can still see it side but it's not completely clear if that makes sense. That was six days ago. Today I tried a fuzzy mouse, first tried live (snake wouldn't move) then fresh killer and nothing, he even tried to escape. Lol.

So I will leave the mouse in all night see what happens.

Here is a refreshe:

Hatched 05/15 (Bob said eat rat pups)
I received Thursday June first

Hot side 89-80 on a t stat
Cool side 80-81
Humidity ( right now) 77%

Any thoughts or suggestions on my next step to get him eating?

Never had a snake that wouldn't eat

If you only got him 10 days ago, you should have only offered him one meal in this period of time. You're offering him food too often, and have bothered him too much. Give him 1-2 weeks without touching him and without food. Then offer a rat pup, either live or not, and only one. Don't move him around enclosures/rooms, don't handle him, and make water changes and fecal clean up to as little disturbing as possible. Offer every 1-2 weeks until he eats, and do not handle him until he eats 2-3 meals in a row.

I hope he eats for you tonight. If not, I'd agree with BSG. Try him again in 10-14 days. He'll catch on eventually :). Sometimes it just takes them a little while to settle in.

It's ok don't panic... I've' heard of snakes that have gone up to a year without food or water... They are way tougher than you think... I use to have a little JCP that got out and I couldn't find him... He should up a month later and would not eat... I was about this close to trying force feeding when I emailed the breeder I got him from... He told me to put the meal and the snake in a small paper bag and chip clip it closed put it back in the cage make sure it is pitch black and you can check every couple of hours if you like... I just left it all night and it was gone in the morning... You might try it! ... Let us know!
