Hi Everyone,

I am going to the Doncaster Racecourse Snake Breeders Show next month to hopefully find a Burmese Python Hatchling.

Can you please help advice me on what to look for with regards to temperament when I am selecting a hatchling?

Also, what to check for regarding signs of good health?

Basically, any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon

Hold the snake, make sure it feels strong and looks alert. Is it able to support a good length of its own body.

Eyes clear, no mucus around the nose and mouth. No old shed (not necessarily a problem in itself but indicates possibly it has not been kept too well).

Speak to the breeder, small talk stuff - ask about their interest in the hobby etc and get a feeling for whether you trust them.

I'm going to be there so happy to drop you a pm with my number and if you want a second pair of eyes drop me a text and if I'm free I'll come and have a look.
