I was scrolling through pictures of Malayan pit vipers on instagram recently, when I encountered the most cringeworthy of pictures of a kid FREE HANDLING a malayan pit viper (a very large one, at that). I then clicked his account and realized he literally free handles the **** out of everything in his collection, His friends do as well, take a look

Very nice animals! We all know what happens when you play with fire. It's just a matter of time before the lesson is learned.

Oh my. I foresee sharply abbreviated lifespans for those guys.

I've browsed through the comments on Chrissweet's posts, he reports that he's been sent to the hospital twice due to his venomous animals. Guess some people don't learn.

Or the Florida moron that tried to kiss the Rattlesnake on May 17th? Look it up via Google....

chris is actually a really good pro. he has completely docile kings that he rescued years ago and they know he saved them both kings where dying but he saved them. he works with many many many venoumus snakes and knows what he's doing more than any of us. his friends aren't so smart and could care less but he's a pro. he was bit by a viper that he was giving antibiotics to orally and got nipped. saved the vipers life. some kids are reckless and do ruin it but ill defend chris because he knows what he's doing and helps relocate and rescues all types of reptiles and animals. good guy he is.

And we're not saying that he's not doing those things. No one said that these animals aren't receiving adequate care. No one said that he doesn't help animals in abusive situations. What we are saying is that what he does is still reckless. Free handling is not responsible. No matter how the animals are taken care of, no matter how nice of a guy he is, no matter if he does everything else right. If you free handle a venomous reptile, honestly, it's your business until you put it out on social media. If you show people who don't know any better, then you're telling them that this is acceptable and normal and that you can do it too. We're already scrutinized as it is. We don't need any help from people like this.
