So I've been in the snake hobby for a while owning everything from a rosey boa to a tiger retic. Its been a while and now I'm ready to get back in but scaling back to a normal boa. I am looking at the T8..I assume this will be fine for a few years so..

A) Can I put her in here as a baby? I know some people use sterlite..i don't have a rack system

B) how long will it hold her before upgrading to a final cage?

I don't have much to speak on, but I bought a hatchling her full sized cage.
Good: No changing cages or replacing.
Cons: More to clean for the snake's size. Heating too. But all things you'll need eventually
More "furniture" or hides needed.

My Woma is in a T20. Plenty of space.

I keep some of my snakes in fairly large sterilite tubs with a heat mat under one end, actually 2 tubs/mat, I use ultratherm 10" x 23" for those. Smaller mat/single tub would be fine for a baby boa for a year or so.

Quick question...if I end up with 2 boas and 2 T8's...can I stack them? I usually use a RHP but if I go flexwatt will it raise the temp too much on the bottom take having the tape on top and on bottom?

Stacking is fine, just make sure the t-stat/s regulate the temps properly. I stack 2 T8's on top of 1 plywood 4x2x2, with rhp's in each one.

So the plywood acts as a barrier. Very cool. Yea I always use a tstat. That won't change. Lol

I think he means he stacks them on top of the plywood. The T8s come stackable with precut holes and the pins to keep them in place. I believe you can stack 2 on top of each other as they make a recessed area on bottom so you can still get probe in between tanks.

I use both an RHP and a UTH for my Tarahumara Boa. RHP keeps the ambients and the UTH provides under belly heat 11" wide on the warm side of cage where RHP is.

The T8s are great. You can section it off to start depending how much of a "baby" boa you get. But as long as you provide enough hides and cover a small snake should do just fine in there even without a divider. My Tara is only 550 grams and about 32" long and does just fine in there.

They are great cages. I did some custom hole drilling for a few additional probes and to hang a few thermometers. Also drilled 3 holes near top so I can move RHP temp probe if necessary. Installed some LEDs on the upper inside frame of the sliding doors shrink wrapped and wire tacked along the ceiling and out the back. A few photos below.
