Is it just mine or does othes have balls that destroy the enclosure?

Mine always moves the substrate to one side of the enclosure. She moves her hides and squeezes into a small space around them.

Also she like to sleep right over the UTH.

Will it hurt her to be on the UTH.

Because she moves the substrate It is hard to keep it between her and the heat mat.

Any ideas on how to keep something between them.

She is just a strange Ball and likes the feel of the glass either on the cool or warm side.

Who know what they are thinking.......lol

What's the temp right on the glass over the UTH? Maybe it's too cold and she's trying to get down to where it's the warmest.

So do you have the UTH under the glass or just under the substrate? I think it's best to have it under the glass.

Will it hurt her to be on the UTH?

Only if it's too hot. You need to know the temp right over the UTH...the hottest temp that the snake can get too.

What are you using for substrate? Maybe pack it down or switch to news paper. Or put news paper under the loose substrate.

What size are the hides? If she squeezes into tight spots beside them...maybe she is not comfortable inside them...maybe because the hides are too big.

Anyway...sounds pretty normal...just make sure to check the temps over the UTH

The Temp right over the UTH is 82. It is under the glass. Then during the day I turn on the heat lamp and the hot s

I have tried newspaper and she seem to push it aside also.

Maybe I should save money and just put the hides in and no substrate. lol

Her hides may be alittle to big so I will try a few smaller ones.

Temp sounds good. Maybe she just likes the warm glass on her belly. Maybe put a smooth rock under the spot light so she can bask on the warm surface.

Have fun... :)

My ball used to move around his hide and put all the loose substrate inside the hide. The only way I changed this was by getting a bigger hide. One that he cannot move as well and I put him in a big tank. So now he is fine and everything is well. Doesn't even move the hide at all. Maybe if he/she is getting a little large for her enclosure then you should think about getting a new one. Or just get a bigger/heavier hide. That's all the help I can give ya.

She is only 26 inches long and is in a 27 gallon which is 30 inches long, so I think it should do for a bit longer.
