View Full Version : Moes a pig....
So I thought I be a nice guy and help Moe with his shed, {Not that he needed help} It came right off so I thought I'd hold him a while and what thanks do I get? He poops and pees all over me and my recliner.... Nice :unibrow:

Try not to fuss with your snakes when they're shedding. It's a stressful time for them and most often they do just fine on their own. Also if you try to help to pull the skin off you may make matters worse.
Only intervene after the shedding process has finished if there is patches of stuck shed. I know it's tempting to try and help our little scaled friends but they really don't need it most of the time.
A post shed dump is common for my snakes too :)

Yaaa... I should have left him alone... Well I won't be doing that again... I read a lot you know, you'd think somebody might have mentioned this! Joke, joke... It's a tough lesson... I had to clean my recliner 3 time trying to get the stench of snake pee out... :sorry: Fun, fun, fun...

I agree that it's best not to handle them during shed. Unfortunately some lessons we have to learn the hard way. ;)
My dog does that too, even when he's not shedding
