Took the female outside for a stretch today and got some photos of her. Her future husband stayed behind because he was feeling a little blue.

too bad it wasn't feeding time...you could've hidden a rat and watched it track it down!

I am loving the Olives around here lately! Your girl looks fantastic ttr!! The way she blends in with with those stones makes me want to add some to my enclosure :). IIRC you said your pair are about 2 yrs old. That's some awesome growth. How much and how often do you feed them? Is your male about the same size and lastly what kind of enclosures do you keep yours in? Thanks for sharing the pics. Please continue to do so generously . :)

The male is slightly smaller as olive males tend to be. I feed them every 7 days. The female takes two F/t rats and the male takes one. They would eat daily if I let them. Never refuse a meal even while they are in blue. The female is as tame as a snake could be. The male is the same outside the cage but inside he has a retic like feeding response. Both snakes pace the front looking to be taken out and held.

As far as caging goes, I started them in dual 4foot enclosures with extra height as they climb a lot. They will be moving to forever homes at the end of the summer. Jeff Hartwig suggested 8foot cages if you plan to seriously breed them. So 8 foot they will be with height for branches.

That's great info ttr. Thanks again. I was planning on a 6ft cage but that could change :). My guy doesn't climb quite as much but he roams a lot. He did tag me once when I first got him but he's been super sweet ever since. Are you going to breed your pair?

That's the plan! I had a breeding trio about twenty years ago. Back when they weren't as common. They never did produce at the time and I was forced to move on. So this is my second shot at it.

My adult vivs wi be 8*3*3 I think. They love to climb. I'll post pics of my juvenile enclosures later today hopefully if I get them done.

Yeah, he was a little expensive though!! That combined with the fact I would have to redesign my snake-room again made me think twice :D
