HOW IS DISORDERLY CONDUCT THE ONLY POSSIBLE CHARGE?! How about poaching and animal cruelty? Ha, what am I saying, snakes aren't cute and fuzzy enough. If they were kittens the public outrage would be overwhelming, lol.
It is illegal to kill any non-game amphibian or reptile in Arkansas unless it proves to be an imminent threat to persons or property (obviously not the case here). All snakes in Arkansas are considered non-game wildlife, poaching definitely occurred. The only snake I can see well enough to ID is a Diamondback Water Snake (Nerodia rhombifer), though the odds are good the others are Water Snakes (Nerodia sp.) as well.

Those were my thoughts exactly. I mean you clearly could see in some of the images where the animals were dead. They had been run over by cars, probably on purpose by a few well-meaning patrons. If it had been a more charismatic animal, the charges of animal abuse would have definitely been brought up. First in fact. No mention was made of the animals' welfare either. If there are moral and legal concerns in regards to clubbing a seal, why can some nitwit do this and the animals aren't regarded to even have rights. I'm sure fish and wildlife handled it differently, but the media definitely didn't.

Honestly, who really cares if the people get hurt. What about the animals you ripped from their homes to do something so stupid, that ended up dying? I mean, wth?

Honestly, call up the prosecutors office they probably don't even know the law.
