I was watching my Boa Constrictor defecate in the garden today, and had a shock when I witnessed what looked like a long white ***** on a red tip come out of its back orifice just after it had finished. This then went back inside the snake and was not seen again.
I have always assumed the Boa is female, but ask if a female would have this?
Or, if this Boa a Male?
Answers please as I will have to now change its name if this is the case, haha..

A male boa will most likely have spurs on either side. close to the vent.
The presence, size, or lack of spurs is not a reliable indication of sex. You could have been seeing the musk glands of a female. Impossible to know without pics. The good news in all of this is that your snake won't care what you call it. :)

LOL. So I still don't know if its a Male or a Female.
I must add I have looked at Pictures on the Internet and nothing I have seen on there looks like what I saw. It as one single white looking spike on a red gland!? popped out and popped back in again..
As mentioned, it could have been a musk gland with a bit of urate on it. The only definitive
way to know the sex of your snake is to have it probed by someone experienced.
