My new Jungle Carpet Python that I got from Derek Roddy just arrived in today. She's gorgeous! Already she's been exploring her enclosure, climbing her vine, and attempting to find an escape. I've got the temp dialed in at 90-95f at the hot end, and 70-75f on the cool side. Humidity is currently at 50-60%. Is there any changes that should be made to that? Did as much research as I could before getting her.
Anyways, I already just absolutely love her. Her head is huge! I'm surprised her little neck can support it. I've still not come up with a good name for her yet. Best I've come up with so far is Delilah. Any suggestions?

Very pretty girl there regi. You chose wisely :). I like the name too. You think she's gorgeous now, wait until a year from now when those colors really start poppin. Carpets are so much fun to keep. The only thing I would change about your setup is the ambient temps. I'd bump those up a bit. I like to keep my ambient temps closer to 80 but rarely lower than 75. With your temp gradient I'm sure she'll be fine.

Very cool little girl... I just love my JCP... He's got quite the personality... Is she nippy? They can be pretty nippy at that age... I actually traded a 9 month old JCP for Moe who's a 7 years old JCP for just that reason... He must have bitten me 50 times in two months... but ya! she's a beautiful little girl...

Thank you guys :) I'll keep you updated on Delilah. Thanks for the suggestion Ziggy, it's definitely something that I'll consider tweaking.
Sattva, I'm not really sure that I can answer that question properly. I didn't handle her much besides getting her into her new home after a pic or two. Even then I used my tiny snake hook to assist me in handling her. Not to mention what the stress of shipping could have had contributed. That said, however, she seemed to be OK. More defensive and nervous than anything. I was lucky enough to be spared the pain of her terrible bite, lol. She didn't even strike at me. Which I hope is a good sign for the future :P

Here's an update. I fed her yesterday, and she was really hungry! She downed her food before the others even finished, and she was the last one I fed. Seems like she's already digging her new home. :) thanks again Derek
