New to this site but need help with my 12 year old rosy boa!

I own a 12 year old rosy boa. Her name is Peaches and I'm worried about her health.

Usually shes active and eats every saturday when her tank is at a perfect temperature. But lately for a little over a week, she has been in her rock house for the hole time even though her tank is warm.

I checked on her a few days ago and saw that her eyes were grey cloudly and i was scared because i thoughr she was dead so i poked her. Thankfully she moved but I'm concerned about why her eyes and now her skin to is this dark grey and looks cloudly.

I did research and believe she has stuck shed. Since shes old i thought it would make sense but i also saw one about layers on the eyes.

Im worried about my baby and not sure what to really do. So please I'd like to here what more experienced people know about whats going on with my baby.

Welcome to ssnakess!! Has she shed for you yet? Are you sure it isn't just a normal shed cycle?

She's shed for me twice but all with in a matter of days. Id feed her then clean her tank and saw her old skin in her house. Ive never seen her spend this amount of time shedding while she's been in my care.

Sounds like a normal shed cycle to me. Her eyes should clear up soon and she'll shed soon after, a couple of days or so

Sounds like normal shedding to me... If she's 12 years old, also 12 years with you? Can't imagine you never saw that :)

My sandboa's get entirely grey-ish/milky when they go for a shed, sometimes takes 1-2 weeks before they clear up and 2-3 days after that they shed.

Mine usually shed without any major deal or noticing it for very long, if at all, but who knows what factors could contribute in different setups in different houses. My other not fully desert snakes tend to take longer, become moody for awhile, show the blue-grey eyes, etc.... They aren't ready to shed at least until the eyes clear up so you don't have to worry in that stage. I don't know about my low humidity rosy boas or desert king since given an object to rub on they shed so easy at worst I end up going oh that's why they they didn't eat last week but the others I've taken steps to put them in higher humidity or do the wet towel wipe when they get wrinkly from the loose skin and don't show signs of starting it.

sounds like normal shedding to me, or maybe it could be stuck shed? depends on how long its been on her.

The times she did shed, did you see her in the blue/opaque phase? Or did you just notice some shed skin in the tank at some point?
