My only other acquisition since I was last on- this beautiful snake.

As is the norm I've let Finley name him so without further ask I give you Gold Armour Minecraft Superhero...

Store pic for now as he's still settling in...

Gold Armour Minecraft Superhero freshly shed. The contrast in his markings are becoming really quite striking. Great snake - typical ATB attitude but doesn't quite want me dead like Mrs Olive does!

Thanks both. I have little say over the name of my snakes unfortunately!

Really pleased with how he is coming along - love the way hortulanus pattern develops over time, no idea how he's going to eventually look even now.

I didn't know they change that much with age and for the better. I might have to more seriously consider one. Don't know what my options for them are around here but might be worth looking into.

I have 7 CBB coming from BC shortly. Currently 2 males are ready to go ;)

For the most extreme change look at a neonate Halloween phase compared to an adult. You'd never believe it was the same snake.

They're awesome snakes. Relatively easy to care for and note inquisitive and active than say a viridis. Prefers thicker perching branches than viridis as well - they like a crook of a branch to curl up in rather than to drape over a thin single branch.

Stunning feeding response and when awake - very alert.

What's really neat is you can breed a halloween phase to a red and get solid reds or maybe some yellows!

Yep, they are not morphs as such and as far as I know (and happy to be corrected) but gene mapping to produce certain phases had not been worked out. You get whatever pops out and the same is true in the wild.

I have the chance on a yellow phase but don't know if I want a pair. I am now dangerously close to divorce territory numbers and and there's a particular snake I'm holding out for.

As adults they turn to various shades (dare I say 50 shades) of grey. As I say, remarkable transformation.

If you have the space (and they don't need a lot) then there is no reason not to get one :)

Halloween phase are only in babies. As they grow the orange will fade away. I have bred atbs for years.

There's a few morphs starting to come out. I don't know much about them but they exist. There's the "tiger" and "calico". I don't know if there's more.

Hold out for the other snake dude! Don't get divorced over an amazon.
