I'm trying to predict how much my jungle will weigh when he's more or less fully grown. Both his parents were about 7 ft long, but I have no idea how many grams that's likely to translate to. Anyone have a similar size carpet for reference?

Second question: about what percentage of their own body weight can a snake safely eat? I keep seeing articles or videos of snakes swallowing animals that are way too big for them and sometimes dying because of it.

I'd guess around 2500 grams.

Carpet pythons are known for being able to eat very large food items. They can probably take around 40% of their weight, but meals ranging from 10-20% of weight would be a decent sized meal in captivity.

It's easy to forget how slender some carpets are.. my male bci at 7ft was about 3.5-4kg. So I was shocked to see you say only 2.5kg! :D
