I rushed my sweet monitor Corona down to Guelph veterinary college where he was admitted as an emergency patient. Last evening he started vomiting , was lethargic and dehydrated. I knew right away of course that he was sick. I contacted Guelph early in AM, also Links Animal hospital in Toronto. Both could see me right away , Guelph was the closest in distance. So grateful for both hospitals to accept me right away.
Corona has a huge mass in his abdomen and is bleeding internally , Spleen or tumour could be the reason but exploratory surgery is needed. He is anemic and because he has shown no symptoms up until yesterday they cant be sure if this is a slow blood loss Chronic or acute .
Guelph asked me if I knew of anyone with a Savannah willing to donate some of their Monitors blood so mine would have a better chance at surviving this surgical procedure. It seems like I'm asking for help for my child, blood transfusion for my Lizard, is like my child.
I didn't know id be signing up to the forum and need to be asking anyone out there who might live close to Guelph who might donate the gift of life to my Monitor.
I can be reached at linnev@hotmail.com in the very rare chance someone can help.
I'm not sure where else to post this since I'm so new to this.
