Hello,
I have a three-year-old, male jungle carpet python. Recently I have noticed a number of lesions/sores along his body. The lesions themselves are dry and I have never noticed pus/blood. Also, he does not react if I touch them. Below are his specs:
Tank: 36x18x36 Exo Terra
Heating: 90° basking spot; 75° ambient temperature
Substrate: mix of Peat Moss, sphagnum moss, and aspen shavings
Humidity: misted periodically (I understand that there is a great deal of contention around humidity levels for jungle carpets; I use Nick Mutton’s “Jungle Carpet Python: a comprehensive guide recommendations)
Feeding: previously frozen 130 Gram rats, one rat every one-two weeks, depending on his activity levels
Handling: primarily for feeding (generally once every 1 to 2 weeks)
Acquired from: a local breeder, parents in good condition
Previous health issues: none
unfortunately the only Vet within reasonable distance that will see snakes has little experience with them. I’m open somebody has seen similar symptoms and knows what the cause may be. Any advice would help. Thanks.
Ryan

Hi Ryan, welcome aboard! I've never had lesions on any of my carpets so I'm not sure what's causing your issues. Your temps seem good although I keep my carpets at a slightly higher ambient temp of 80-82. I don't mist my snakes but I don't see why it would be problematic as long as the enclosure isn't too wet. After 5 posts you can add pictures. That might offer more insight. Best wishes.

Welcome to ssnakess! We'd be better help with some pictures of the issue. After 5 pictures you can upload them or some third party sites allow it immediately.

Is there anything in his cage that could burn him?
