Even though I have now had my rescued Savanna Monitor for two years now I still feel I need to learn more than I do. He was released by somebody, not sure if it was on purpose or by accident but it was just shear luck that I was able to find him after a week, still alive in our cold spring weather in Canada. Long story about his rescue but I am the owner now of him and absolutely love this guy. Originally I was trying to find a new home as I knew nothing about raising a lizard but read all that I could. I fell in Love!
He has grown out of his original housing and now it is time for building a new enclosure to live out the rest of his life.
That is why I joined this forum ..to get advice before building...or to get some sites to research . Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me. Since I live in Canada, this guy lives in doors year round.

What a lucky lizard to have been rescued. that alone probably formed quite a bond between you two. They are such awesome creatures. and I'd say you'll be able to get answers to a lot of questions here as well, welcome!

Welcome aboard, stop bysavannahmonitor.net. its one of the only caresheets that is reliable when it comes to monitor lizard care. I keep a peacock monitor and built its enclosure so if you have any questions ask away haha. Do you mind providing a run down of cage size, substrate, humidity (above ground and in the burrows?) Temps on the cool side, hot side, and basking spot?

Welcome to ssnakess, I know nothing about monitors but a few members here do. I love the look of monitors but don't have the space, skill or time for one.
