Imo a pulse stat works best with a CHE, you'll have to check the wattage on the stat to make sure you don't overload it

Do you know if a 250watt CHE can heat a 9ftlong by 3ft wide enclosure properly? Dont worry it will be controlled by a thermostat. I jus wonder if it was strong enough for that big of a enclosure?

I have an 8x3x2 and I had to use two 250watts to keep the ambient temps up the full length of the viv

That's hard to say mate until you get the viv up and running and check the temps :)

Where in the enclosure did you set your probe from the thermostat?
I was going to make a hole in the back of the enclosure and have the probe about 6-8 inches off the ground and about under the CHE but not directly under it. so That she could not move it around. Is that want you did?

I just have mine hanging lose at the back of the viv, but high enough so the snake can't lay up against it. Then I used a temp gun to tweak the temp of the hot spot below the CHE. I had the viv running for about week checking temps and discovered the the ambient temps where to low at the cool end of the viv. So I added another 250watt CHE and played around with the temps until I got them dialed in :)

Mine are like Dave's, just hanging loose down the corner of the viv, my snakes have examined it but are not interested in it.

This is the viv that my dwarf boa is in. She has a bigger water bowl, this is just to help the humidity at the moment.
