So i was away for 2 days, come home today to see my false water cobra drinking from and soaking in his water dish, which had poop in it.

He should be fine right?

Should be fine. Just change it out (assuming you did) and keep an eye on him. Nothing you can do unless he starts showing signs of sickness or something.

It's always such a special "treat" when they do their business in their water bowl. Usually right after I've cleaned it and filled it with fresh water. I've never seen one of mine drinking from the soiled water bowl, but I doubt that it will harm them unless it is alowed to continue.

Yeah, my gopher snake exclusively poops in his bowl. I think since I got him over a year ago he's only pooped somewhere else in the tank twice.

I like it when my fwc's poop in the bowl, much easier to clean. They poop so much though.

It is actually pretty common for snakes to pop in the water dish. I seem to remember my boa always pooping in the tub when we would let him go for a swim. Guess they just find the water relaxing. :)

Is this behavior linked to peeing or pooping in a clean cage? I would think it might be a part of their nature to soil their surroundings, no?
