Ordered 15 of these guys from LLL and they will be here tomorrow. When I was scrolling through Craigslist I found a 40 gal breeder so I can house these guys comfortably now while the wolf snake picks them off.

Tried to create a larger basking area with what I had laying around. I figured the tile should warm up nicely right under the bulb.
"15"??? Here I have been contemplating getting one... How cool! Can't wait to see them....
I have to quit reading these half a sleep... I read that as blue tongue skinks...

Beautiful animals, will look forward to seeing some photo's of them
So! Now that I am awake! Are you going to breed these guys for food for your wolf snake? I'm I reading this right... They're pretty expensive for snake food aren't they?

Yes she's going to be expensive to feed. She won't eat anoles or house geckos. So far just these blue tailed skinks. I got them from LLL and they are selling them for (I think) $6 each. The total was almost $150. But I've wasted a lot of money on things she won't eat so it's nice to spend it on animals I know she'll eat lol
Another guy is selling them a bit cheaper but he won't ship until spring because of the weather. And since she isn't up to weight there is no way she would last until spring without eating. I don't plan on breeding them. Just spend the money on getting large quantities. I don't really want to deal with little lizards and eggs. I would have ordered more this time but wanted to see how big an adult was before doing so. If she can eat an adult then I'll probably order 25 or so at a time.
They all arrived alive and well.

But one less already. I took some of her hides out this morning so they could try to feed her without Skink possibly escaping or hiding from them when they checked to see if she ate. Turns out she went for it when they dropped it in. Can't wait till she is up to weight! I want to try a bioactive tank for her but want to wait until she is a good weight incase it stresses her out but not much seems to stress her out haha

Beautiful little skinks and glad to see she's eating for you :)
Fascinating! Now how long will 15 last?

Her schedule is once a week for food. So these should last 14 more weeks as long as none die.
Apparently this is how we are basking. Went down to look at them when I got home and saw this haha
