Probably because I spend far too much time drooling over reptiles. They are such a neat looking species, congrats Mink. I really want to get a turtle tank set up but I think that may cause relationship issues. Also I do not really have the room right now.

Depending on the turtle, some can live in a 20 long (minimum) for all of its life. 40 breeders are more common though. My full grown mud turtle is in a 20 gallon sterilite tub and doesn't need anything bigger really. Some stinkpots and male maps also can stay pretty small. Just stay away from cooters and sliders and most females as well. Spotted turtles are pretty neat too and don't require much space, just a very specialized set up.

Cool. Most of my "pets" live outside, but occasionally, I catch them and make them house pets. I have a red eared slider that likes to eat dried shrimp that plucks them from my fingers. Found him in my back pond.

It always makes me smile when I find a rough earth snake or a western fence lizard. I found a baby western a couple of days ago in my smoker. I saw a green anole at a house I'm working on and I need to steal a few because my population has died out. I barely have any house geckos anymore. We had a bit of colder than normal weather here and it wreaked havoc on some reptiles.

The geckos are coming back and I see a few western fence lizards but no anoles. Still got some toads but I think the last generation of babies was wiped out, probably not by the cold, but the early dry Texas heat.
