Potential issues

So im scheduling a vet apt for my Ball python Maynard but i was hoping for a bit of insight while i wait. He has always been a ****** shedder but lately he wheezes a bit right before he sheds. It got really bad tonight and it scared me. I usually attributes it to bits of shed over the air ways and it cleared up everytime i assisted him. My question is do anyother bp owners experience this or is the vet visit probablymore neccisary then i thought? He is currently eating as i type and has been acting fine aside from some obviously obstructed oxygen flow (hopefully just skin over his nose)

Whats your temps and humidity? That will help people give advice. Do you have digital thermometers and a hygrometer? Thermostat connected to heat source? All that good stuff.

Not humid enough for a ball python even when it isn't shedding, and it must be bumped higher than nornal when shedding. A slight wheezing, whistling or popping noise is normal during shedding when the skin is loosening in and around the snout. Low humidity is the culprit for your shedding issues, and low humidity can cause an RI, but once you fix that all should be well.

Oh jeez i thought it was 40% for like years. Tyvm i suspect my vet will say the same.

55-60% should be the aim, and 20% higher when shedding would be ideal.

I pumped up the humidity yesterday and he seems a lot better this cycle already.
