View Full Version : Carpet python with cardboard stuck on head
Hello,
My carpet python has some cardboard stuck on his head from a makeshift hide of his that disintegrated when he spilled his water bowl. I tried giving him a bath a few days ago but he freaked out, i think the water depth might have scared him(he could still keep his head up though). Should i try giving him another bath?
Thanks
Nick

How is the cardboard stuck on? With some form of adhesive or tape that was holding the hide together or just because it was wet and has dried on?

Maybe try spritzing his head with a water bottle to soften the cardboard, then wipe with a damp towel?

If it's just dried on increasing the humidity will soften it and could come off in it's own. Or wipe with with a damp soft cloth after letting it get wet.
Its just stuck on from being wet then drying. I will keep his humidity up and see if that helps
They don't need baths. It just stresses them out for the most part...even in this case. Provided it's just cardboard and there's no glue present, itll fix itself in a matter of time with a bit of moisture.

Cardboard will get soft with moisture. You can spray it like was suggested. It will come off on it's own

When I got my first baby carpet I didn't have the humidity high enough, and his first shed (here) was patchy. I simply wrapped him loosely in a damp washcloth for an hour to loosen the dried patches and they came right off. Should work as well for the cardboard.
