Hi friends, I have a question, if somebody can help me with...

My brongersmai (2 years old, male) spends long periods of time into his water reservoir, 24 hrs a day for 1 week or more, got out for one or two days and then... goes in again, never skipped a meal until now, actually he skips 2 or 3 weekly meals..

Thanks!!

What are his temps? Some of them like to soak...but that's a LOT of soaking that you're describing and isn't normal in my experience. Usually it's from excessive heat, lack of humidity, stress or mites.

Also, bloods don't need weekly food offerings...really slow metabolism. Every 14 days works fine.

For sure look into the heat in the cage and check it and the water bowl real well for mites , They do like to get in there water bowl and spill it all over the place but my bet is if it stays long periods in the water it has mites

Thanks for your advises...

I have heat 28° to 30° during the day, and 24° to 26° over the night, since ever.. no change, but I will check humidity...

I use quaternary ammonium for the cleaning, anyway, I have checked for mites into the enclosure but nothing, let me check my blood guy physically with magnifying lens..

I will write again...

Thanks again.
