Heat source raising ambient temperature of a room?

Do any of you have issues with your heat sources raising the temperature of a room too much? Are there significant differences between different kinds of heat source?

Specifically in my case, I'm going to have an 80 watt RHP in an AP cage in a ~144 sq ft room. I want to know how much of that is going to leave the cage and if someone sitting in that room is going to feel the difference.

I talked to the guy who sold me my ProHeat RHP and he was suggesting I try using insulation panels below the cage whether there are heat problems or not. Saves money either way. Also on the back of the cage if it against an exterior wall. My 2 cents. I will be doing both.

Can you elaborate on that? In what ways will that help, and where are you getting the panels?

All my cages raise the ambient about 2f but that is a combination of uth, rhp, che and lamps. If the door was closed it would warm the room more.

How many cages is that, and what kind? Can you estimate how many watts that adds up to?

Yes, my snake rooms can get very hot because there are many feet of heat tapes running along with lights and a few rhps. I really don't think one RHP will make any difference nor will a few feet of heat tape but with more cages, racks, etc, it will add up. Just stick an AC in the window and hook it up to a ranco tstat if you get to the point where the snake room is too hot for them.

I have 2 120 watt panels, 2 80 watt panels, 2 100 watt CHEs, and 2 heat bulbs in the snake room and it makes no discernible difference in the room's temperature. During the summer, that room is no warmer than the rest of the trailer except when the sun is hitting it maybe around 12-4pm, and although I'm heating it right now with a heater, when the heater is turned off the temps fall just fine.

I have 5 cages 2 rhps guessing 40w 60w, 150w che, 2 uth maybe 20w each, 50w halogen and a t5ho dual florescent light. The light is on a timer, the heaters are on stats. In my spare bedroom about 9.5x10ft. If i leave the door closed it warmed about 5f. I generally left the door open for air circulation with the rest of the house. No return grill in that room. They are now moved in the basement. It is warmer down there now then before but I've also replaced my furnace with a better one the same weekend so I don't know exactly which is more the reason for being 2-3 degrees warmer then the rest of the house.

I control the ambient temperature in my snake room by using a Safe Heat space heater attached to a programmable thermostat for that purpose. Even with all the other heat sources in the room the ambient temp stays pretty stable.
