Hi im new here. Im looking to get a python but im wondering can a adult full grow python fit in a 20 gallon cage thats 18x18x18?
You could start it out in it but I would think it's a bit small for a full grown python... I hear that rule of thumb is to combine the length + the width of your habitat and that gives you the biggest snake you can house in it...

I can't think of any adult snake that could be kept in an 18x18x18 enclosure. Childrens Pythons are about the smallest python you can get but even they'd need something bigger as an adult.

Well i have a mexican black king snake in the cage now and hes going close to out growing it so i wanted to not waste the cage and get another snake for it. So if a children's python wont work out what type of snake would be perfect for the cage?

There's precisely zero adult snakes I'd keep in an enclosure that size. It's simply not big enough for anything. To be honest I can't think of any lizards I'd keep either.
The most I'd keep in there would be an invert of some kind.

A smaller Hognosed snake male could be kept in a 18*18*18,.. I'd prefer a bigger enclosure, I would probably keep a spider or something in it. :D

Maybe a Eryx colubrinus? Kenyan sandboa. One of the smaller lampropeltis
