Would mint bother snakes? I was removing chocolate mint which is a variety of spearmint that is attempting to jump the sidewalk through the cracks and considering it's hardiness thought it might be a good candidate. The stuff can thrive from bogs to damp sand. Depending on variety it can even grow in water. I'll set deep roots, it'll set shallow roots... there's a reason you have to contain mint and some people plant it in a buried bucket lol I just wasn't sure if the strong smell would turn off reptiles. It can repel some pest bugs but I think my bio-active cleanup crews won't care.

I would be reluctant to use any powerfully scented plants in a snake terrarium as they have such a sensitive sense of smell.

FWIW mint is often used as a natural snake repellant. Don't know how effective it actually is, but that's something to consider.

Maybe that's why my yard has no sign of snakes lol It's covered in a wild variety of mint family plant, a bunch of mint planted by the previous owners, and I put chocolate mint in the berry vine and bush area.
