Really Mink, 3 new snakes? I've got to get me a new critter now :). I'm thinking there's at least one boa in there. My other guesses would be a BP and a garter of some kind.

Minkness

Haha! Yessss....3!

Trying to locate a 4th as a match to the other one though.

As for your guesses, nope! 2 are the same species though. A 1.1 pair. =)

Really?! 0 for 3? Now I'm stumped. What else would Mink keep? Gopher snakes maybe? More hoggies?

Minkness

Andy, I think you know of 1 of them. =)

I am hoping there is a VBB, but I doubt it. Or another beauty snake.

Minkness

Not a Vietnamese either.

Hint: In the wild they eat bats.

Two very cool species, mink.

Minkness
10-26-16, 06:25 PM
Haha, thanks! Only have had them 1 day, but so far they are pretty neat. The yearling male cave dweller peeks at me from his hide, but the other 2 are completely hidden for now lol. Hopefully all eat well next week when I offer their 1st meal with me. =)

CHEATER! You said blue beauty snakes! Nice try!

Great looking snakes Mink. Love all three of them. Are the Mexican gophers similar to the North American species? I did a quick google search, but didn't turn up too much.

Minkness
10-26-16, 07:35 PM
From my understanding they aren't even really a gopher or a pine, but their own sub species. They can get pretty large though. The 1st captive female was 8 feet! Most stay between 5-6 feet though. =)

Bandit

Wow, sounds like a cool species. Can't wait to see it grow and hear your experience with it. Maybe one day I'll get one. I'm a sucker for pits.

Minkness

Yeah, I found it by accident and just had to have it lol. The markings really sold it for me. I will say that there seems to be an intelligence in it's eyes that I don't see in my cape gopher. Also, for being so young, it's pretty chill. The cave dwellers came out gaping and tagging like crazy, but the Mexican lined came out super chill and so far hasn't offered so much as a mean look lol. I really hope I can find a female for him. Fingers crossed!

Bandit

Best of luck with him!

They look beautiful. Love the last couple of pics...
Congrats... again... hahaha

Minkness

Thanks!

It's hard to catch the colors right, but the blue on the male's head is unreal! And his belly is super iridescent, like an opal!

Thinking of naming the cave dwellers Eros and Nyx =)

Still in the naming process though haha.

They consistently get to 6-7 feet...as long as you can keep up with their metabolism! ;)

Minkness

Andy, you may need to specify what you mean by keeping up with their metabolism lol.

Thanks guys!

Ziggy, do you already have your eye on something? Now I'm curious!
