Boa Love

Hi there
has anybody got any tips to encourage my two year old motley het albino to p[air with my six year old boa het albino(only 5ft) .there always cuddled in the hide together and i know you dont always see them mating during the day
i took him out to feed him last week for a couple of days and does seem a little more responsive since being introduced back to her there out in the open more and hes always got his head on hers

I'm assuming the 2 year is the male and the 6 year old is the female? Has the male been dropping any sperm plugs? Slow grown, it can take the male 3+ years to mature, he may just still be too small at only 2 years old. I've even heard of a male that took 7 years before he started to drop plugs and mate.

How long have you been pairing them?

Hi bsg ,yes the male was 2 on June and has been slow grown,I haven't seen any plugs yet,he's been coiled with all the time,always got his head on hers about 3weeks now,so still time
I'll try a bit longer if not I will try my 6year old albino

Well after a month of trying he seems to realise what his job role is lol, seen them hooked up a few times now ,just hope
He's not a Jaffa after all this,lol

Ha! Just be sore to keep him in there until all interest has been lost for a full couple weeks or you see an ovulation. Ovulations can range from the size of a softball to the size of a football and can vary in duration from less than half an hour to a couple of days, so loss of interest is a good backup if you miss it.

Well motleys been uninterested in mrs boa for a couple of days now,he's been by the glass while she's under the heat and she looks like she's going into shed aswell ,fingers crossed he's done the job

Well mrs boa full on blue eyes tonight and she's looking quite swollen in her lower half so fingers crossed motley done the job

If she took, once she has the post ovulation shed she will look quite dark at all times and will continue to hug the heat. Sounds very promising, Richard.
