Another surprise addition, a friend linked me to someone selling a pure Suriname red tailed boa female.. He was considering getting her at first but the seller demanded she would be picked up today, they ended up butting heads and he just gave up. He send the advertisement to me, because it was in my town.. Turned out to be really close by so I went to check it out.
Won't go into too much detail, let's just say the previous owner was rough on her.. It's a pretty girl, bit of a firecracker when he was handling her, she calmed down later with some gentler handling. She does have some health issues.. I think she has a lot of potential though! Her scales are bit dull looking, which I hope is just an upcoming shed.. She also has some small dry rough spots, put some lotion on them and it felt a bit better immediately. Besides this you can see her spine protruding on the lower half of her body (visible on the 2nd picture) and she has a bunch of torn belly scales. There is an older untreated injury near her eye, which I cleaned right before the picture. (You can see it in the first picture, close to her left eye)... I think she is going to need a few sheds and some TLC at very least to turn around, I'll keep a close eye on her. She's said to be one year old, but seems quite large for a yearling. Guess I will never know, the paperwork just states date of import and gender but no date of birth. Is she a keeper? I don't know, she is at least staying until she is healthy again.. But she is very pretty, and in complete contrast to my other 2 Suriname b.c.c, which is fascinating as they were already so different from each other. I named her Abaddon for now, not sure if it's permanent but it suits Lillith and Lucifer.
