I can't take credit for finding the article. I've stumbled upon a truly excellent Facebook group and there's been a discussion about the importance of near visible infrared light for basking.
It has caused me to change my thinking on the use of che's for diurnal reptiles as they do not emit and IR-A where as basking bulbs do which according to this article provides much 'deeper' heat than that provided by IR-C (which is the only IR emitted by a che).

I can post links to some fully peer reviewed scientific papers which back this article up if anyone is interested.
