I've had my boy Henry for almost a year now and he's always been fed superworms as well as his daily salad. However, a fellow keeper told me that superworms should not be used as staples for adult beardies. My roomates are not fond of roaches and he doesn't seem to have an interest in crickets. I just wanted to check the validity of this statement.

It is my understanding that superworms are an acceptable staple but super mealworms are not. The superworms are morio larvae and naturally attain their large size. Mealworms are a different, smaller species that is given a hormone that causes them to grow large. You can typically tell the difference between them because super mealworms have a uniformly light shaded body and usually sell for 1/2 to 1/3 the price of morio superworms.
