View Full Version : Help!
Someone please help me! My new baby ball python has an RI and I'm not sure what to do! I tried one home made humidity thing to help him just now but I'm not sure what to do! He is only a few months old and in the middle of a shed right now. He has some bad bubbles and I don't want him to choke and die. His warm spot is about 85 and his cool spot is about 70. I have his humidity high right now since he's shedding but I heard to lower it if he has an RI. I'm not sure if I should take him to the vet or not but I'm very worried and would love it if someone could help me! Thank you so much!
He is being kept too cold and that's probably what caused the problem. 78-80 cool side 90-92 warm side is a good range. Higher temps and humidity help with R.I. actually... but you need to go to a vet for this problem. In the meanwhile, fix those temps.
Andy has you covered. Good luck and I hope you can get it cleared up.

No good with royals personally but just wanted to say don't panic too much but definitely go see a vet... Antibiotics will be needed.
Mistakes happen so just fix those temps and learn from this one, goodluck and let us know how you get on. :)

keep us posted on how he's doing. hope all goes well.
You're welcome Livers. We're here to help. Best of luck and keep us updated.
Thank you all so much, he is doing great! The vet said he will be fine if we stay on top of his shots. He ate two small mice yesterday ( he's growing so fast! I need to get him bigger mice!) and we fixed the temperature problem. Again thank you all so much!:)
