View Full Version : Whats your ultimate snake?

Bit of a different slant on favourite species.

If money wasn't an object what is your ultimate snake. For me-surprisingly a morph. I give you the axanthic black headed python.

God I want this snake!

I would kill for a Scoria boa and dying to see what an Anery Scoria boa looks like. Also on that bucket list is an Anery IMG boa. I have a big soft spot for dark morphed and striped boas/snakes.

Morelia boeleni, without question.

It's a toss up between an Eastern Indigo and a Boelens Python.

Now that is a pretty snake! What's the asking price for one of those when they come on the market?

I change my mind every year, but my ultimate snake right now (other than eastern indigo which I already have) would be Spilotes pullatus mexicanus. Tiger Rat Snake mexican subspecies.

A female amethystine python, I've wanted one ever since I held one in the sunlight and saw how beautiful these snakes really are :)

Last time I checked around $2500 a piece.

if i could have my dream snake, it would be any one that's docile, a good eater and 10 foot long! of course, i'd have to have a dream house to keep my dream snake in

Mark me down as another Boelen's python, without a doubt. Right now I would settle for actually being able to handle one.

The dragon snake, or Xenodermus javanicus.... Never going to happen :D

Magdalen

Wow that dragon snake is neat looking.

I dunno if I have an ultimate snake, but if I had the room a black headed python for sure. I held one at an expo years ago and he was a nice calm snake and beautiful. I think I actually like the normal morph the most haha. But then, hrrrmmmm, do they get big enough to eat rabbits?

I really need to stop looking at these threads lol

I 2nd the dragon snake though.

I also find sunbeams to be unreal and a super want of mine for years. While 'cheap' they are all wild caught and have difficult care needs as well as shouldn't be handled. All things I am not prepared to deal with just yet in my keeping requirements.

Maybe some day though!

I can vouch for the BHP being as cool as they come personality wise

Wow! I've never seen a piebald retic before! I do know those palmetto corns are high end and very pricey. Nice photos. Thanks.

The same guys make a "Cow" morph retic as well. Hatchling price is somewhere near 25k if I remember correctly.

Yeah Bob Clark has some crazy stuff.
Wow I can't even find pictures of what a snow palmetto looks like, that makes me scratch my head too, because they're already really really white, haha.

Dragon snake as well, or a False Chinese Cobra. I just fell in love with the latter recently.

Wow!... Grrrr now I want a Xenodermus javanicus... You people are killing me! How much will one of these set you back?

Ok... these are cool but they only get to two and half feet and I'm not a small snake kind of guy,
So I will have to be a little bias here and go with my bud George... A Purple albino reticulated python is hard to beat!

Dragon snakes are not readily available and still do VERY poor in captivity. I don't actually know of anyome who has oneat this time outside of maybe some zoo or specialist.

I'd love to have a pair of amethystine pythons, but housing such a large and active snake properly would cost as much or more than the snakes.

Your right, we don't know much about the snakes needs etc which lends itself to not doing well in captivity... From my understanding they aren't really available at all, I've never seen one advertised anywhere at all.... Never met a keeper of one either.

Black and white Diamond Python. The yellows are nice but nothing looks more beautiful than the B&W Diamond.

Wow-what a snake! Yeah go on then, have a second on your list.

I'd add an absolutely top quality Peruvian B. constrictor to my list.

I've actually discovered (as can be seen from my new purchase thread) that there's a fake few very unusual snakes on the market at the moment that don't cost an arm and a leg. Got my eye on something else also that I've not seen before :)

Ooop sorry I got confused... it's a blizzard palmetto, different but still really confusing.

Blizzard Palmetto Cornsnake - Ians Vivarium (http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/?m=blizzard_palmetto&sid=89bd15f0522acff7b23475c465afe108)

I haven't yet found an adult pic yet. But I'm still trying to figure how they know it's palmetto if it's all white.
