There is a reptile show in two months and I want to buy a Blue Eyed Leucistic Colombian Rainbow Boas or ball python... I'm hoping to pick one up for 3 or 4 hundred... I guess my question is are they typically cheaper at shows?

IME the prices on most snakes are better at shows, but it also depends on the rarity of the animal in question.

I'd be surprised if there was a blue eyed rainbow available at the show. I doubt they would be priced low even if they were available. You can definitely find a ball python in that range at a show. Ball pythons are always all over the place at shows.

Blue eyed columbians are still priced over 1k I believe. But you should be able to find a Blue Eyed BP for under 600$ at a show.

Also, if it's just a white snake you want and the blue eyes don't matter much, you can look at getting an ivory. That is what I have and people mistake her for a Black Eyed lucy all the time. =)

I don't think I want to get into breeding... Maybe if I were a young man and if I had the room and if there was money in it, and, and , and Ya! Not a good idea for me... I have wanted a BEL every since I saw one...

Oh hey that's right where I work. I didn't know about that one. Just the big one at the end of this month. Check that one out too. I believe it runs for 2 or three days, last weekend of this month.

Yeah that one! :) It's a good sized event, so you would be bound to find something. The other one I've never been to or knew about. Didn't know there were so many events. The one coming up in a few weeks I've been to several times.

That's because it's Outback, they're a wholesaler/exporter, don't buy from them if you aren't used to caring for sick/injured animals.

There are also BEL cloubrids that are much less pricey, and easier to maintain than rainbows or balls.
