Soooo, as some may remember, I have been working on replacing all of my 'tanks' with better vivs and front opening enclosures. Well, little by little it's coming around!
Found a guy on craigslist selling a 3x2x1 PVC and even though he lives 2 hours away, he brought it tobme on saturday. Also in saturday, I went into petsmart just to look around and maybe get my dog a new toy. Well, they had a 36x18x18 on sale, $50 off with the perks card. So my mom talked me into buying it since I have been working so much lately she knew I could technically afford it lol.
Soooo, I got those 2 yesterday and then set them up today. It meant a serious overhaul in how my reptiroom was set up though so it was quite a bit of work moving things around and playing a bit of musical enclosures again. (I swear I am blessed with pretty chill snakes for as often as I change enclosures on them, no one freaks out or goes off feeding lol).
There were 3 upgrades today. Solara got the new 3x2x1 PVC, Persephone got the 26x18x18 exoterra, and my banana mojave BP got the exoterra that Solara was in. And my female cresties wwre moved back into their community tank as well.
I need a bit more decore for everyone it seems, so next payday I'm going to look at getting some fake plants and such along woth cypress and sanichips and reptibark. To do a full overhaul cleaning and set for everyone.
This also leaves me with SEVERAL empty tanks! Lol. Luckily I am sticking to my plans of upgrading enclosures before adding any more reptiles, so I am selling all of my tanks on craigslist. Haha.
Here are some pics I took of my babes enjoying their new digs, as well as some shots of my over all set up. Please excuse the mess. Cleaning will be done little by little through the next 2 weeks until I can get all the bedding I need as well as some better organization (like drawers or something) for all the little knick knacks.

Nice! I really need to get to organizing too. I have another rack coming in and have been looking up pricing for the retic cages...seriously who wanted retics crazy expensive lol
What are the chances you stick to that no more reptiles until you have enclosures for everyone plan :P

Lol! At this point, probability is pretty high. Financially speaking I can't afford more animals AND nicer tanks and still pay bills lol.
My 'goal' is to make it to next year without any new additions since I want a 1.1 pair of neon blue red sided garters (these things need a shorter title lol).
I really REALLY am going to do my best to stick to my goals!
Though if someone has a free snake or gecko on CL, what little spine I have may turn to jelly lol.
As it is though, pretty happy with where I'm at and looking forward to the hunt for nicer enclosures. =)

Yeah thats generally my plan since buying the retics. I figured caging them is going to be the goal for a bit. I got a quote for two 9ft cages:shocked: Honestly it isn't that bad but ouch!
I do have one new snake coming this week but family is already looking for Christmas gifts and I told them this one would be great as an early gift. I don't know how I'm related to them I wait like the week before christmas and panic looking for presents lol
Are you putting everyone in enclosures or are some going in racks? I can't remember the sizes of everything you have...

I'm working towards enclosures for everyone. I have male hoggies that srem to be staying pretty small, and even the females I ended up with are pretty small. So I may end up keeping the 10 gallon fish tanks for them just because the same size exoterra or other front opening tanks are just rediculusly priced IMO. That thought process may change though. Who knows! Lol.
I have been thinking more and more about breeding though. So I may look into getting a rack when the time comes for babies. Also wanting to get a rat colony together as well and several species of roaches for the geckos.
So I have lots to plan and do and redo to keep me busy for a while!
I think for Christmas I'm only going to ask for enclosures. Normally I ask for a lap top, but I have been wanting that sonce I was like 16 and STILL don't have one. And now, ai just use my phone for everything anyway lol. Soooo...more enclosures are DEFINITELY on my list lol.
Looking very nice Logan, great pick ups!

Reptile Basics has pretty cheap racks with decent quality if you do decide to breed and need some. I have 3 of their racks now one of their hatchling racks and two of their bigger racks.
I have no idea what I really want to ask for haha. The enclosures I need are all over $2000 and that seems a little much to ask people to buy. Maybe ask them to split a new ipad between everyone since I broke the screen on mine recently. Had it fixed but the touchscreen doesn't work quite right in certain spots. I've had the same macbook pro for about 5 years now still works fine while expensive I've found them to last. And that's saying something since I went through 3 pcs in a year time period before I got the macbook pro!

Haha! Wow!
Well, if my mom goes in on a Christmas sale, she could get me another exoterra or two. The one I got on Saturday was like 300$ at one place and cheaper at petsmart PLUS the sale, sooooo, I actually got a pretty good deal on it for it being brand new! And I could certainly use the shorter version For my female leo colony. =)
Am I seeing paper towels in some of these cages or reptisand? I know I have heard limit the sand for snakes on just generic advice, so if that is the sand, how is this different?
Otherwise, thank you for sharing.

Hmm I might have worded that wrong. I've been looking at the ProTek cages for my big ones. They do these complex cages so it's 2 cages in one unit. Not $2000 a cage I don't love my snakes enough to spend that much on just one:p

Always a great feeling when you get everything clean and organized just right.
Awesome! Good on you providing some space for your animals. Looks like a fun room bud.

Rem, those are paper towels you're seeing. The one that looks like deep sand is just the paper rolling up the side a bit. I never really used sand personally so have no knowledge or experience with it to answer your question. I have heard that play sand is better though, and that so long as the animal is properly hydrated, that there is a much slimmer risk of impaction. I don't want any risk myself though so stick with different beddings. Mostly paper towels and reptibark at the moment.
And thanks everyone else! I'm pretty broud of it so far but I know that I have aloooot more to go before I get it where I really want it lol.
