Mulling over what snakes to add to the collection when we move house and my local store has a couple of Macklott's in.
Seem really nice snakes, beautiful iridescence to them and something a bit different.
Does anyone have any first hand experience of them?

No love for Macklott's then? Still tempted by them as they are not so common. Will have to have a proper look at them next time I'm at the store...

We had them in the shop a few years ago Danny I can't remember what the the temps and humidity were. The vivs were big semi arboreal setups of which they used up most of the space. I remember the ones we had being quite nippy and didn't mind having a pop at me when I was trying to change the water bowls. We tried tap training them but it didn't work, in the end we just gave up and removed them with hooks to another viv when we were cleaning. Sorry I haven't more information for you mate

Haven't kept.them but have wanted some for awhile. They're a medium sized python from southeast asia, females can get up to 9 feet. They're not known for a great disposition; rather known for biting. All the ones I've run into fall into that stereotype sadly... not to say there aren't calm ones, just I haven't witnessed one in person. Typical temp and humidity requirements for pythons in the same area. What specifically are you trying to find out about them?
