Hello i was wondering if there were any good reads that anyone knows about, that could teach me more about carpet pythons. (as i am looking into maybe having one as a pet some time soon.)

The Complete Carpet Python by Nick Mutton and Justin Julander is by far the most comprehensive book on the subject. It isn't cheap (at least here in EU) but if you're serious about Carpet Pythons this is the book for you!

good idea to do your homework 1st. so many people get on here and ask what snake they should get. glad to see someone research it 1st.

I would definitely agree with fede. The Complete Carpet Python is the ultimate book on Carpet Python care. The information and pictures are well worth the $60 price tag. There are some good care sheets out there but they don't go into as much detail as the book. Carpets are great snakes to keep. I think every keeper needs at least one carpet. :)

I would definitely get that book and be very choosy when you get some, there are a lot of good carpets to pick from. I would get the best you can, especially if you ever plan to breed them.
