I have a concern that hopefully you fine people can help me out with.
Not so long ago I purchased a ghost Honduran milk snakes from snakes at sunset. He's a male and sexually mature. It is my understanding that this sub species is a non naturally occurring in nature and take 5 yrs of strict breeding methods to produce? ( cross bred?)

My question is: if I where to breed my male with a female of the same species, would 100% of the offspring come out as pure ghost Honduran milk snakes? Sorry if this sounds stupid since im new to the hobby.

Thaks, gabe mondragon

You need to know the genetics of the parents of both snakes to determine the percentage of babies that could be produced. Ghost is just one of the many morphs that have been bred in Hondurans. Not particularly rare and there are different quality ghosts. The more tipping you see (black tips on the white scales), the lower the quality. There is a book that I recommend that you purchase if you're really interested in learning more about Honduran Milk Snakes. It is called the The Collective Guide to Honduran milk snakes by James Tintle and Doug Mong https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NYBJTVI/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1#reader_B00NYBJTVI Excellent book! Good luck and enjoy your new snake.
