hey guys. i am thinking about getting a burm. iis it true that certain breeders ca ship across state lines? if so, which breeders do you recomend? also, i live with my girlfriend and her rabbit and three cats. ill be keeping the burm in the basement, where none of the other pets go, but could this be a problem? Thanks!

Burmese pythons are not allowed to cross state lines period. Your thinking of reticulated python. The injunction to the Lacey act allows certified members to ship only if they joined US ARK before the April 8 2015 deadline. If you get a large snake just make sure the enclosure is secure. Also the smell of rabbits and cats on you can result in getting bit.

The smell of rats and cats can get you bit from any snake. Just make sure you buy from a reputable breeder and if it's a baby make sure it has eatin at least 3 times before you buy it.

I'm no expert mate just talking from personal experience here but when we're defrosting rabbits anywhere near are Burms the smell turns them into completely different snakes. I've been bit and wrapped by our male albino burm which was totally my own stupid fault and something I can rest you can be rest assured will never happen again. A feeding response bite is much different and way more dangerous from a large snake than a normal bite
