In our hobby, boas and pythons are collectively referred to as boids, but in regards to taxonomy, Boidae and Pythonidae are separate families I am fairly certain.

If I call a python - boidae, it is a serious mistake? Or, among the keepers this is considered normal?

Call it a boid, not a boidae, because a python is not a boa. A serious mistake? It depends on how nitpicky the person is who you're talking to. Some people will try to make something out of nothing.
